The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed a delegation consisting of US Congressional staff members, part of the 2025 Balkan Forward Fellows program, as well as members of the Atlantic Council, organized by the renowned think-tank The Atlantic Council.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked the participants for their interest and commitment to the region, emphasizing the special relationship between Kosovo and the United States of America, which has been strengthened over the years through bipartisan support in the United States.
The Prime Minister informed them about current developments in the country, including economic progress, democratic reforms, the fight against corruption and the advancement of human rights, as evidenced by international reports. During the conversation, Kosovo’s path towards the European Union and relevant reforms, the strengthening of Kosovo’s international subjectivity, and the dialogue process with Serbia mediated by the European Union were discussed. Regarding the latter, the Prime Minister reiterated the importance of signing the Brussels Basic Agreement and its Annex agreed in Ohrid.
The meeting also discussed the importance of economic sustainability and cooperation in the field of defense, as well as other issues of common interest.
