The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kosovo, Rainer Rudolph, in an official meeting.
Prime Minister Kurti extended his greetings to the ambassador, congratulating him on his appointment and expressing appreciation for the experience he brings to this important role. He highlighted the strong and comprehensive partnership between the two countries, encompassing deep political, economic, and security cooperation.
Germany is one of Kosovo’s most stable and strategic partners, with over €450 million in financial cooperation and more than €95 million in technical assistance. Among the most representative projects is the Innovation and Training Park in Prizren, which is becoming a regional hub for green technology and skills development.
The meeting also underscored the role of the Kosovar diaspora in Germany, numbering over 600,000 citizens who form a social and economic bridge between the two countries. The Prime Minister thanked the ambassador for Germany’s support in areas such as vocational education, labor market integration, rule of law, green transition, and infrastructure reforms, noting that these fields align with the government’s priorities and with the progress made in recent years.
On the economic front, Prime Minister Kurti expressed readiness to increase German investments in Kosovo, particularly in sectors such as manufacturing, dual education, renewable energy, and digital technology. He emphasized the government’s willingness to facilitate any German company interested in economic partnership.
Prime Minister Kurti also expressed appreciation for the commitment of the German contingent within KFOR and NALT. Germany remains a key factor in maintaining peace in Kosovo and the region through its KFOR presence and support in the security field.
