Dear Kasapi Family,
With a heavy heart, I received the news of Shpat’s passing. Such a sudden and untimely departure is deeply painful and feels unjust. It even sounds unreal, as he was so young and carried such energy, radiating it to all around him.
His loss has affected all of us, regardless of profession or generation. Many post-war generations grew up with his figure and iconic songs. He held a special place in everyone’s hearts as a hardworking, cheerful, and above all, highly charismatic young man. The artistic community has lost one of its most beloved figures, as everyone has only kind words for Shpat. His music has succeeded in uniting Albanians worldwide, particularly those from Kosovo, the Preshevo Valley, North Macedonia, and Albania. This contribution will forever remain unforgettable.
My condolences to the entire Kasapi family, the artistic community, friends, and associates. Condolences to Mrs. Gjylymser, Mrs. Selvije, and their son Roel. May God grant you the strength to bear this loss.
With deepest respect,
Albin Kurti
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo
