Qirez, Likoshan, 28 February, 2026
On the 28th anniversary of the Qirez and Likoshan massacre, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Speaker of the Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, and other MPs, paid homage in honor of the Albanians killed by Serbian forces on February 28, 1998.
“For 28 consecutive hours, the enemy forces of Serbia attacked the population here. There was a great awareness of the people, not only in Kosovo, but throughout the lands that Albanians populate in the Balkans, as well as in our diaspora. There was also an increasingly greater awareness of the world’s diplomatic chancelleries, but also of the international public opinion”, said Prime Minister Kurti, among other things, during the tributes.
That day it became clear that the liberation journey of our people is inevitable and irreversible.
