Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi received the non-resident ambassador of Japan, Mr. Makoto Taketoshi, in an introductory meeting, in which they discussed current political developments in Kosovo and the region.

Prime Minister Thaçi informed Ambassador Taketoshi about political processes in Kosovo, about processes relating to European integration, the start of negotiations for an Agreement on Stabilization and Association, and the April 19 Brussels agreement on normalization of inter-state relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.

Prime Minister Thaçi thanked the ambassador for the support he and the Japanese Government have given to the people and state of Kosovo, at all times, and today, during the period of European integration.

In today’s meeting, Prime Minister Thaçi emphasized the need to deepen cooperation between Kosovo and Japan in all fields of joint interest, with special emphasis on developing economic relations.

The non-resident ambassador of Japan, Makoto Taketoshi thanked Prime Minister Thaçi for the leadership he has shown in all processes of importance for Kosovo and expressed Japan’s willingness to continue helping Kosovo and strengthening cooperation between our two countries.
