The Cabinet began today’s meeting by discussing and then approving the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ risk assessment on state level natural and other disasters.
Minister Bajram Rexhepi mentioned that the risk assessment and drafting of such protective measures, and rescue plans, is based on the Law on Protection Against Natural and Other Disasters. Minister Rexhepi noted that the law identifies the capacities and needs to prevent and reduce risks, on responses, on recovery and on controlling the damage caused by disasters and calamities.
The Cabinet also approved a decision on the preliminary expropriation of land along the Vermice-Merdare highway, as proposed by the Ministry of Transport and Post-Telecommunications. Minister Fatmir Limaj stated, “Expropriation has been done based on the best technical alternatives, defined in reference to the data on the terrain within Prizren Municipality, including Vermice, Zhur, Polisht, Vlashnje, the city of Prizren, Hatmaxhe, Shpenadi, Beleshte, Novake, which encompass a distance of 27 kilometers with a surface area of 239 hectares.” The Transport Minister added that the expropriation process will continue from Prizren to Duhle and up to Besi.
The Cabinet approved a budget request to cover the upcoming nine month operating period for the new Ministry of European Integration, for which it allocated an initial 300,000 euros.
Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi requested the Cabinet to amend the 2010 Legislative Strategy. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that this results from the establishment of new Kosovo institutions, which is also linked to the 2010 EC Progress Report.
The Cabinet approved the Draft Law on Amending the Law on Business Organizations, sponsored by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The Cabinet decided that the law’s amendment was needed in order to create conditions for the law’s full implementation, to harmonize it with European directives and legislation, and so that it does not have any budgetary implications.
Health Minister Bujar Bukoshi informed the Cabinet that he found a solution on the issue of the 44 euro payment supplement for health workers.
The Cabinet also allocated 100,000 euros to accommodate the returnees in Zallq, Istog Municipality.
