Mamusha, November 22, 2024

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, the Mayor, Abdülhadi Krasniç, the Minister of Regional Development, Fikrim Damka, the Ambassador of Turkey, Sabri Tunç Angılı, and the chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo, Keisuke Yamanaka, inaugurated the Main Family Medicine Center (MFMC) in Mamusha. The event was also attended by the deputies, Fidan Jilta, Enis Kervan, and Haxhi Avdyli.

This project is a significant investment for the improvement of healthcare services in the surrounding area. The new MFMC in Mamusha is an investment worth 757,608.37 euros, of which 90% is financed by the Ministry of Health and the remainder by the Municipality of Mamusha, featuring modern infrastructure for delivering healthcare services.

The newly inaugurated MFMC will offer laboratory and diagnostic services, and it is equipped with an X-ray machine, which has been provided as a donation by the Japanese Embassy. It has two rooms for administering intravenous therapy, a pharmacy, and suitable conditions for the medical staff. In addition to other services, it also offers dental services.

Prime Minister Kurti congratulated the residents on the new Family Medicine Center and thanked the municipality for their cooperation and the Japanese embassy for the donation.

In every corner of the Republic, without distinction, we will continue to invest in healthcare infrastructure to provide quality services and dignified conditions, both for our professionals and for our citizens without exception. “Other investments, specifically here in Mamusha, are not lacking and will never be lacking, but will certainly increase,” he said.

Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, expressed happiness to be in Mamusha. He emphasized that the opening of the Main Family Medicine Center in this municipality is part of our joint and daily commitment to bring healthcare closer to the citizens, making access to these services easier, of higher quality, more affordable, faster for everyone, and without distinction.

“Primary healthcare is the most important part of our healthcare system, and investments in this area are extremely significant. Today we are opening the MFMC in Mamusha and as the Prime Minister mentioned, there are also four other centers being developed across the municipalities of the Republic, with the majority of the investment coming from the Ministry of Health,” said Minister Vitia, adding that in addition to investments in infrastructure, we are also continuing with investments in equipment, vehicles, and ambulances, to facilitate citizens’ access to healthcare services.
Minister Fikrim Damka, after thanking the prime minister for the visit, said that since Kosovo’s independence, no prime minister has visited Mamusha four times and added that you have not only visited but the promises you made are being fulfilled one by one.

The Mayor of Mamusha Municipality, Abdülhadi Krasniç, thanked Prime Minister Kurti for the support not only for the Family Medicine Center building but also, as he said, for the significant support in securing drinking water.

Full Speech of Prime Minister Kurti:

Honorable Mr. Abdülhadi Krasniç, Mayor of the Municipality of Mamusha,
Honorable Mr. Fikrim Damka, Minister of Regional Development,
Honorable Mr. Arben Vitia, Minister of Health,
Honorable Deputy Minister of Health, Arsim Berisha,
Honorable deputies of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Ms. Fidan Jillta, Mr. Enis Kervan, and Dr. Haxhi Avdyli,
Honorable Mr. Sabri Tunç Angılı, Ambassador of Turkey in Kosovo,
Honorable Mr. Keisuke Yamanaka, chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo,
Honorable attendees,
Ladies and gentleman,
Sisters and brothers,

We have gathered here today to inaugurate the Main Family Medicine Center in the Municipality of Mamusha. This main center facilitates the access of Mamusha’s citizens to healthcare services according to the highest standards.

This project, valued at exactly 757,608 euros and 37 cents, is 90 percent funded by the Ministry of Health, while the remaining ten percent is provided by the Municipality. It includes the basement, ground floor, and first floor.

In the basement, laboratory services and diagnostic services are offered, including an X-ray machine, which has been provided as a donation by the Japanese embassy, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks.

On the ground floor, we have two rooms for administering intravenous therapy. Besides other healthcare services, it includes dental services, and on the ground floor, we have an office to ensure dignified conditions for the medical staff. Meanwhile, on the first floor is the pharmacy of this Main Family Medicine Center.

The facility is equipped with a central air conditioning system, which allows us to provide quality services from doctors and nurses, as well as suitable conditions for the full and speedy recovery of patients.

We are meeting here in Mamusha after four months. Last time I was at the International Tomato Festival and today we are together to inaugurate this investment by the Ministry of Health.

In 2024 alone, over 150 greenhouses in Mamusha have received direct financial support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development.

Truly, the Government of Kosovo is supporting the farmer from Mamusha, who grows quality products, and it’s no wonder you are recognized for these tomatoes beyond Kosovo.

Through the Ministry of Economy, the project for building the Water Supply Network for the settlements of Krusha e Madhe, Pirana, Zojz, and Medvec in the Municipality of Prizren and the Municipality of Mamusha is being financed. This project involves installing a new pipeline to supply Mamusha from Lake Radoniqi.

This year, the Ministry has allocated 700 thousand euros and the Regional Water Company “Gjakova” 300 thousand euros, during which the Commission of Ministers for Public Enterprises has also discussed the possibility of financing the second phase in 2025 to complete the entire project.

Meanwhile, honorable residents of Mamusha,
Honorable attendees,

Through the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, we have supported 5 road infrastructure projects, with a value of 628 thousand euros. This was accomplished through memorandums with the municipality, where the Government took on the financing, and the municipalities handled the contracting.

So far, four roads have been completed: Mamusha-Nepërbisht, valued at over 107 thousand euros; Mamusha-Medvec, valued at nearly 150 thousand euros; the “Lluka” road, valued at nearly 89 thousand euros; and the Mamusha to Tërrnje road, valued at nearly 97 thousand euros. Meanwhile, the “Bahçelik” road, valued at over 187 thousand euros, is expected to be contracted.

This Family Medicine Center in Mamusha is the first in the series of planned developments, and dear citizens of the Republic, besides this, the centers in Drenas, Shtime, Istog, and Ferizaj are also nearing completion.

A new Center for Culture and Youth will be built here in Mamusha, a joint project of the Municipality with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Regional Development. For this purpose, our government has set aside 900 thousand euros, whereas the Municipality has set aside 600 thousand euros. I look forward to us meeting for this inauguration as well.

Honorable attendees,

In every corner of the Republic, without distinction, we will continue to invest in healthcare infrastructure to provide quality services and dignified conditions, both for our professionals and for our citizens without exception.

Other investments, specifically here in Mamusha, are not lacking and will never be lacking, but will certainly increase, he said.

May you enjoy it and all the best!
Thank you!
