The fruitful cooperation between Kosovo and Luxembourg continued with the 8th online meeting of the Bilateral Commission between our two countries. Kosovo was represented by the first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, while the Luxembourg side by Mr. Franz Fayot, Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs and Luxembourg’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Eric Dietz.
Minister Fayot first expressed his condolences for the policeman who fell in the line of duty in the September 24 terrorist attack, the Hero of the Republic of Kosovo, Afrim Bunjaku, and congratulated the work of the police and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
Deputy Prime Minister Bislimi thanked the minister for his message. Meanwhile, in the framework of the meeting, he said that the National Development Plan should serve us as a guide for the harmonization of projects. Likewise, these projects and others financed by donors in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Kosovo should be strengthened in better coordination and synergy.
After a good cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, together with its Embassy in Pristina, it has been achieved and the drafting of 4 project proposals that will be financed by the 2022-2025 agreement.
This Agreement is a continuation of the development cooperation activities implemented until today, but it is also marked by a diversification of cooperation with Kosovo, further integrating a connection with the private sector in Kosovo and that in Luxembourg. The new programs specifically aim to support the areas of health; professional training; inclusive and sustainable growth; as well as civil society.
The projects provide support for governance, implementation of policies, programs and initiatives for the development of employment, the private sector and the innovation and research sector.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, announced the work and priorities of the ministry, emphasizing the objectives in the development of Renewable Energy.
In this meeting, there was also a presentation of the achievements of the past projects and the presentation of the expectations from the 2022-2023 projects.
