Brussels, 18 August 2022
The third high-level meeting between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia was held today in Brussels.
This meeting was supposed to be held on July 19. However, it was postponed for August at the request of the other party, while the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, expressed his willingness to attend.
Today there were two topics on the agenda. The first was the discussion on the General Framework of the Agreement. Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that this agreement should be legally binding for the full normalization of relations focusing on mutual recognition. He introduced several chapters with relevant elements that this framework should contain. The second topic was the current political and security issues for which Prime Minister Kurti pointed out the importance of legality and constitutionalism in our country as guarantees of peace, security and equality for all citizens without distinction.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked the European Union, Mr. Borrell and Mr. Lajçak, for organizing and mediating these talks, towards the normalization of bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.
