SEVENTH ROUND OF TECHINICAL DIALOGUE WAS HELD

The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo led by Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri travelled today to Brussels in participating at the seventh round of technical dialogue talks which will take place on November 21 and 22, 2011.

In this round of talks between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, mediated by the European Union and with the participation of USA, it will be talked on the problem of non-application of the agreements from Serbia’s part as well as for matters which for some time now are being discussed such as issues of telecommunication, energy and regional cooperation. Another issue expected to be presented is that of integrated border management of the border between the two countries.

Kosovo’s part has already established the upper hand in relation to Serbian party given the fact that the European Committee appreciated the constructive role of the Government of Kosovo during the dialogue and has criticized Serbia on the non-implementation of the agreements and has requested that it meets the requirements of the dialogue and reaching new agreements with Kosovo.

The Government of the Republic of Kosovo shall be engaged for concrete results and will also defend the position that the success of the technical dialogue lies in the implementation of agreements and will reiterate the request that Kosovo be rewarded for its constructivism in this dialogue by establishing contractual relations with the European Union. While nearing the decision of the Council of Ministers of the EU on the advancement of the countries of the Western Balkans on its journey towards which is expected to take place on December 9, 2011, Kosovo expects essential progress towards the the EU as a state with European and Euro-Atlantic philosophies and practices.

The delegation of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in composed of: Lirim Greiçevci – Prime Minister’s Political Advisor, Dren Zeka – chief political advisor of Deputy Prime Minister Tahiri, Arjeta Rexhaj – political advisor, Gazmir Raci – political advisor, Elona Cecelia – political advisor, Visar Xani – political advisor, Ibrahim Gashi – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edon Cana – Coordinator for Regional Cooperatoin at PMO, Naim Huruglica – Director of Customs of Kosovo, Fisnik Rexhepi – political advisor of the Minister of Interior, Qemajl Marmullakaj- Senior officer for policy planning (PMO), Shaban Guda- Kosovo Police.
