This morning, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Health Arben Vitia, accompanied by the deputies Haxhi Avdyli and Fitore Pacolli, visited the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, namely the Urology Clinic, on the occasion of the inauguration of the renovations in this clinic.
During the visit, Prime Minister Kurti had the opportunity to see up close the transformed spaces in this clinic. The renovations, which amount to 1.2 million euros, are investments that directly affect the improvement of conditions for patients and at the same time facilitate the tireless work done by the health staff who give it with their maximum dedication.
Now, each room has central air conditioning, oxygen supply and a system installed to call the nurse from the patient’s bed at any time. The renovated clinic also has sanitary units with modern conditions and standards and a bathroom for disabled people, as well as enlarged patient doors to the standard for patient beds – in the past, as the doors were smaller than the beds of patients, it was necessary to move patients in sheets to their beds.
Thanking and expressing his deep gratitude to all the doctors and nurses for the tireless and unsparing work they do, the Prime Minister said that the Government has an obligation to create the conditions for the health personnel, but also for the patients who receive treatment.
The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, also spoke about these investments, who said that this renovation today comes after the meeting he had with the staff of the Urology Clinic, who had informed him that the Urology Clinic in the operative block, is the clinic with the worst conditions, in which it had not been invested for almost 20 years.
He thanked all the health professionals, without distinction in this clinic, doctors, specialists and nurses, emphasizing that this result today is the merit of their requests and work, and warned that the operating rooms of Urology will also be opened next week and in this way, the Urology Clinic from the most problematic clinic in terms of infrastructure in the operating block, is becoming a model clinic in UCCK.
At the Urology Clinic, Prime Minister Kurti was welcomed by the Director of the Urology Department, Elvir Azizi, the Director of Urology, Petrit Nura, as well as the health personnel.
We remind you that last month there was the inauguration of investments of about 5.5 million euros in the Clinic of Gynecology at UCCK.
Prime Minister Kurti’s complete pronunciation:
Good morning, everyone and thank you for joining us in this important inauguration of the transformation of the Urology Clinic, with about 1.2 million euros of investment, since for around 20 years there has been no investment, but there has only been a degradation of conditions for both patients and for doctors and nurses.
Thanking you to the director of the Clinic, Petrit Nura, I had the pleasure of seeing how these nine rooms with three beds each have modern conditions, which is very crucial both for the recovery of patients and for the professional care they provide all doctors and nurses their maximum dedication. Each room has central air conditioning, oxygen supply and the possibility to call the nurse at any time from the bed where the patient is and at the same time there is also a very important repair of the toilets, in which case we also have a supplement for persons with disabilities.
So, it is not enough for the hospital, the clinic to be a building, they must be places that give hope to patients for a quick and complete recovery.
I thank Minister Arben Vitia, the Director of UHCSK, Elvir Aziz, and the two MPs who have joined us today, Dr. Haxhi Avdyli and Fitore Pacolli. So, we are here to express our deep thanks and gratitude to all of you doctors, nurses and nurses, for the tireless, unsparing work you do, and we have an obligation to create the conditions for you as well as for the patients in so that those who are forced to come here leave as happy as possible.
Thank you very much!
