The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development, and Dialogue, Besnik Bislimi, organized a reception for the team that worked on the completion of Kosovo’s Reform Agenda under the Growth Plan, marking a milestone in its preparation and negotiation.
Prime Minister Kurti highlighted that the official presentation of this instrument by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on 8 November 2023, underscored its significance, sparking immediate and serious commitment to the process.
“The negotiation of the reform agenda and the Growth Plan as a whole began in November of last year. It has been an intensive process involving analysis, drafting, negotiation, and coordination of this reform agenda, carried out simultaneously in Brussels and in Prishtina,” stated the Prime Minister.
He emphasized that Kosovo had adhered to all deadlines, submitting required drafts of the reform agenda on time. “In nearly every instance, Kosovo has been the frontrunner. Work was conducted swiftly, responsibly, and transparently, both in terms of the financial costs for each reform, and the indicative list of investment projects”.
He further stated that excellent work had been done to ensure the plan’s ownership, relevance to Kosovo’s needs, and alignment with the country’s other strategic and planning documents.
In this reception, the Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude and thanked everyone for the excellent work, starting with the team composed of the staff of the First Deputy Prime Minister’s cabinet, colleagues from the Departments of European Integration, other offices in the Prime Minister’s Office, continuing with the cabinets and civil servants who have contributed to this process, including the line ministries such as the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
As a result of this plan, based on the implementation of reforms agreed upon with the European Commission, Kosovo stands to benefit up to €882.6 million.
