The following is the Prime Minister’s letter to Chancellor Merkel.
Honorable Chancellor Merkel,
On my personal behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, I have the honor and privilege of offering you my most sincere congratulations on the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
The great historical event of the fall of the Berlin Wall marked the fall of communism and an end to the Cold War era and its confrontations.
With the collapse of the Berlin Wall, finally, there was the beginning of an epoch of hopes of freedom and democracy for all peoples, including for the people of Kosovo. This is the epoch of deepening cooperation between peoples, towards peace and overall development.
The spirit of promoting the values of freedom, democracy and prosperity – which identifies the period after the fall of the Berlin Wall – has been, is, and will continue to be the key priority of the Government of Kosovo and of all our institutions.
