Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, accompanied by the head of the municipality of Vushtrri, Bajram Mulaku; visited works being completed on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” road, inspected the construction on the river bed and bridge of Terstena River, as well as the new school in the city center.
[The following is the full statement of Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi in Vushtrri].
This visit and the reality of the work taking place here in Vushtrri in all segments of life, and these changes that are taking place; confirm the hard work which is being done to change the lives of people here in Vushtrri, and throughout Kosovo; by building new schools, kilometers of sewage and water systems, regulating river beds and roads, and increasing the construction of new kindergartens.
The over 11 million euros invested are a direct investment in work, an investment in changing the lives of the people of Vushtrri for the better.
These investments will continue in all fields necessary to change people’s lives, to modernize Vushtrri and to build a very modern infrastructure.
I want to congratulate the head of Vushtrri and all the authorities for the great work that they have done here in this city and in all of the villages of the locality of this municipality.
The government will be continue supporting all municipalities, so that they continue working, developing the economy, creating new jobs for young people, improving social welfare, and creating a secure future for us all.
[The following is the statement of the head of the municipality of Vushtrri, Bajram Mulaku].
Currently, we are working on three important projects: Building a road at the entrance of the city, constructing a bridge and constructing a river bed. An elementary school is also being constructed in the center of the city. All these projects are expected to be finished by November of this year.
[Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi responded to media interest about the upcoming municipal elections].
I see free elections as a value, and not just as a date or number. Therefore I must stress that in my opinion, statements about this or that date are inappropriate.
It is more important that a consensual and joint solution is found, a unanimous decision of the whole political spectrum, rather than the relatively unimportant task of finding a date. It is more important that we have free, fair, democratic elections, which I have total faith we will achieve.
The will of Kosovo’s people is not defined by hot or cold temperatures, but by the values and vision of political parties; and we will present that vision.
