The Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Hashim Thaçi, today hosted the Minister of Justice of the Government of the Republic of Albania, with whom he discussed collaboration between the two countries. Also taking part in the meeting was the Minister of Justice of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Nekibe Kelmendi.
Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said that he considered the collaboration between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Albania to be all-encompassing, and that it would continue to intensify. This collaboration, said Prime Minister Thaçi, will also extend through all the institutional and national structures of the two countries. As part of this, the Ministries of Justice of the two countries will decide on modes and forms of co-operation.
“Collaboration between the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Government of the Republic of Albania is intensifying in all institutional areas. Our bilateral collaboration will only deepen. On this there will be no hesitation or dilemma. We also have the support of the international community. All this collaboration is also taking place at the level of international and euro-atlantic integration. As independent states, Albania and Kosovo will be part of the European Union and of NATO,” said Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi.
For his part, the Albanian Minister of Justice, Mr Enkelajed Alibeaj stressed that his visit would be made concrete in the forms of collaboration between the justice systems in Albania and in Kosovo, and that this would increase the efficiency of the fight against negative elements in our two countries.
“We think it is necessary for our two countries to have ever closer, co-ordinated relations, to show our shared aims. This relationship will continue ever more intensively in the future,” said the Albanian minister, Mr Alibeaj.
Prime Minister Thaçi and Minister Alibeaj agreed that moving forward the collaboration between the two countries would contribute to an affirmation of the future prospects for the region’s integration into euro-atlantic structures.
