Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the Secretary of State of Nordrain Westphalia for Federal and European, International and Media Affairs, Dr. Mark Speich

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the German State Secretary of Nordrain Westphalia for Federal and European, International and Media Affairs, Dr. Mark Speich.

In addition to the welcome to the Republic of Kosovo and to Pristina, Prime Minister Kurti, at the beginning of the meeting, expressed his gratitude for Germany’s support to Kosovo in development, democratization, and security.

Together they discussed the bilateral relations between Kosovo and Germany as well as the state of Nordrain Westphalia, the support in the process of European integration, the possibilities for increasing cooperation in the economic and commercial aspect through the organization of business forums and mutual visits, and the important role of our well-integrated diaspora in creating bridges and sharing experiences and knowledge.

Prime Minister Kurti informed Secretary Speich about the progress in the country and the results of the government so far, characterized by economic growth, institutional stability and democratic progress. He added that in addition to the diaspora in Germany that can serve as a bridge of cooperation and mutual benefits, various dual education programs are already being implemented in Kosovo, inspired by German-speaking countries, which will also serve as a connecting bridge of education with the economy and the preparation of the labor force with the demands of the labor market.

Referring to the large presence of our diaspora in Germany, namely in the state of Nordrain Westphalia, the prime minister underlined that the Business Union created 10 years ago, with headquarters in Dusseldorf, represents a great economic and human potential that can be strengthened even more further through bilateral cooperation.
