Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the President of the Swiss National Council, Eric Nussbaumer

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed to the government building, the Chairman of the National Council of Switzerland, Eric Nussbaumer, together with the Swiss delegation led by him.

The meeting began with the prime minister’s congratulations on welcome to Kosovo and on the birthday of Mr. Nussbaumer, to whom we wish health and long life.

During the conversation between the two delegations, it was discussed about bilateral relations, economic and commercial cooperation and about the opportunities and potential that our emigration presents for further strengthening and deepening of our exchanges.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the state of Switzerland for its continuous support, the role it has played especially during the last three decades, and for the decision to extend the mandate of Swisscoy, the contingent of Swiss troops in Kosovo within KFOR, until the year 2026.

Regarding our exile in Switzerland, he emphasized the interest and commitment of the government for its involvement and contribution as much as possible in the economic development of the country. The Prime Minister singled out the example of the “Orllati” consortium from exile in Switzerland, which won the first solar energy auction and which plans an investment of 70 million euros. He added that there are many successful Swiss companies in Kosovo, making it a profitable destination for other companies from Switzerland.

The President of the National Council of Switzerland, Eric Nussbaumer and the Swiss delegation, consisting of the two co-chairs of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Switzerland-Kosovo, Cédric Wermuth and Marc Jost, as well as the official from the Parliamentary Service, Sophie Lachat Rohrer, are staying in Kosovo from moon. They also held bilateral meetings with the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz.
