On the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kosovo, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj.
As they congratulated each other, Prime Minister Kurti thanked President Begaj for Albania’s continuous assistance to Kosovo before, during and after liberation. He also expressed gratitude to Albania for the support at the international level, the vote and advocacy for Kosovo’s membership in international organizations and the role of Albania’s representatives in meetings and important organizations in which Kosovo is not yet a member. President Begaj said that Albania was, is and will always be by Kosovo’s side.
They talked about joint achievements, such as the recent ALPEX scholarship, and the challenges of the next projects that unite us even more. The Prishtina-Durra Railway project was singled out, which Prime Minister Kurti said is the most important project of the decade. Meanwhile, interstate cooperation is deepening with the implementation of intergovernmental agreements. Today was the inauguration of special lanes for the border crossing and the opening of 20 special crossings for the residents of the border zone, making the border between us more and more invisible every day.
They talked about increasing cooperation and exchanges in the field of education, as well as in the field of defense.
Part of the delegation of the Office of the President of the Republic of Albania was Hemion Braho, Director of the Cabinet, Ilir Melo, Diplomatic Advisor, Arta Sakja, Political and Social Affairs Advisor, Alma Sina, Protocol Advisor, and the Ambassador of Albania to Kosovo, Petrit Malaj.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Kosovo Ambassador to Albania, Skender Durmishi, the Chief of Staff, Luan Dalipi, Sihana Mehmeti and Rinë Zhitia from the Intergovernmental Coordinating Secretariat Kosovo – Albania, the Political Advisor, Jeton Zulfaj and the Government Spokesman, Perparim Kryeziu
