The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the new Director of the UNICEF Office in Kosovo, Veronika Vashchenko.
Along with welcome to Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Ms. Vashchenko for the new task and offered close cooperation from him and line ministries and agencies in the field of youth and education.
They discussed the current programs and collaborations in comprehensive education, early childhood education and practical work within the “Kosovo Generation Unlimited” program, but also about the opportunities to do even more, especially in the promotion and development of youth volunteerism.
During the meeting, the importance of processing the data collected from the Population, Family Economy and Housing Census was highlighted, the vote on the Law on Youth that was approved last week in the Assembly was welcomed and the inclusion of youth and human capital in the National Strategy for Development was appreciated.
This was the first meeting between Prime Minister Kurti and the Director of UNICEF in Kosovo, Veronika Vashchenko. Ms. Vashchenko, a citizen of Ukraine, was appointed to this position in June of this year.
