The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received today in his office the mayor of the Municipality of Baden bei Wien in Austria, Mr. Stefan Szirucsek, who was accompanied by the member of the city council, Mr. Nusret Bujari.
Prime Minister Kurti congratulated Mayor Szirucsek on the successful twinning of Baden and Suharekë municipalities, expressing his pride for the good integration of Kosovo Albanians in Baden and the important role of the “17 February” association in this regard.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked Mayor Szirucsek for the support that Austria has given to Kosovo, especially during and after the war, and for the recognition of diplomas from Kosovo. He emphasized the very good cultural, political and historical relations between Kosovo and Austria.
Also, Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mr. Nusret Bujari for his work as a member of the city council in Baden and for his role as a bridge between Kosovo and Baden.
For his part, Mayor Szirucsek appreciated the presence of entrepreneurs from Kosovo in Baden and mentioned the world heritage of his city, expressing the desire to further strengthen relations, especially in the field of tourism, where there has been an increase of 50% of nights spent in Kosovo during the past year.
Prime Minister Kurti mentioned the importance of learning the Albanian language in the schools of Baden and discussed the possibilities to place it in the educational institutions of the city. He also emphasized the participation of companies from Baden in the upcoming Austria-Kosovo economic forum, which will be held in Kosovo, underlining the importance of economic cooperation between the two countries.
