The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed at the meeting a delegation of the Regional Assembly of Europe, part of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), headed by the Belgian senator Anne Lambelin.
During the meeting, the common values shared by Kosovo and the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly were confirmed, such as cultural and linguistic diversity, human rights and solidarity.
The Prime Minister appreciated the cooperation and underlined the field of film as a field with potential for cooperation, and learning the French language as an instrument to get to know and bring the peoples of the two countries even closer, as well as to increase the mobility of students and professionals in the service of cultural exchanges, increasing competences and socio-economic development. He expressed the will for public educational institutions to increase the teaching capacity of the French language.
The members of the delegation thanked the Prime Minister for the hospitality and the meeting, and expressed their satisfaction that for the first time APF conducts such a visit of several days in Kosovo.
In this meeting, together with Prime Minister Kurti, were also the Chairman of the Permanent Delegation of the Assembly of Kosovo to APF, the deputy of the Assembly of Kosovo, Dimal Basha and the Secretary of the Permanent Delegation of the Assembly of Kosovo to APF, Bukurije Rukolli. From 2022, the Assembly of Kosovo has the status of an associate member in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), and aims to advance in the future towards full membership.
