Prime Minister Kurti welcomed Norway’s Representative for the Western Balkans, Haakon Blankenborg

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, received today the Representative of Norway for the Western Balkans, Haakon Blankenborg.

The Prime Minister expressed the gratitude of the Republic of Kosovo for the continuous support of the state of Norway for the development and integration of the Republic of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic organizations and welcomed the appointment of Mr. Haakon Blankenborg in the position of Special Representative for the Western Balkans.

In the meeting, the prime minister spoke about the successes, achievements and challenges of governance. He emphasized that the fight against corruption has translated into economic development and democratic progress of the country, thus becoming a champion of democracy in the region. After presenting the 2022-2030 strategy in the field of energy, the prime minister invited Norwegian investments in Kosovo, which will further strengthen bilateral relations.

They also talked about the security situation and the dialogue with Serbia for the full normalization of relations, in which case he emphasized that after the terrorist and paramilitary attack, inspired, prepared and sponsored by Serbia, it is important to increase the security on the border with Serbia . Meanwhile, as far as the dialogue is concerned, he continued emphasizing the importance of the agreement reached this year in Brussels and the Annex in Ohrid to be signed, accepted, respected and implemented by Serbia as a whole, especially after the recent open declaration by Serbia for disrespecting them up to not recognizing the territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo, which represents an open threat to us.
