The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today welcomed Elhame Muqolli, survivor of the Paklek massacre, Teuta Elshani, family member of the fallen, Afrim Hysenaj, author of the monograph on the Paklek massacre, and Fadil Muqolli, family member and owner of the Muze house.
During the conversation, the survivor of the massacre Elhame Muqolli shared her experiences during the war and the Paklek massacre, as she expressed her dissatisfaction with the lack of justice for these crimes for 25 years. Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mrs. Muqolli and the other guests for their visit, endurance, sacrifice and courage, and emphasized the importance of witnessing and documenting crimes, staying true to our history and insisting on our right that all criminals, whether they be the order givers or the executioners, end up behind bars in domestic or international justice.
They expressed their gratitude for the welcome and for the institutional support for the realization of the monograph and the museumization of the house where the massacre took place.
Prime Minister Kurti accepted from the author Afrim Hysenaj his two books, the monograph on the massacre of Paklek entitled “Shtëpia me gjak në mure”, which will be promoted tomorrow at the house museum in Paklek, and the monograph on the massacre of the Delijaj family in Abri te Eperme entitled “Toka skuq e qielli nxin”.
In the massacre of Paklek, on April 17, 1999, 53 Albanian civilians were massacred, among them five babies, the youngest was 6 months old. After the execution, Serbian forces returned and burned the corpses twice.
