After their exchange at the closing event of the program for the second generation scholarship holders within the Citizen Diplomacy Program in August of this year, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed and talked with the now new and third generation of this program.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti welcomed the scholarship holders, thanking them for their contribution to the institutions of Kosovo. He said that the Citizen Diplomacy Program is one of the most important initiatives of our government for the diaspora, as the diaspora remains one of the main pillars of our history and plays a key role in the development and growth of the state.
The Prime Minister added that the diaspora, as a connecting bridge between Kosovo and the world, is now more involved in culture, economy, innovation and the development and progress of the country. He underlined the important role that the scholarship holders have through this program, for bringing perspective and skills that help in the modernization and further development of our public institutions, and the importance of deepening their connection with Kosovo, as professionals and diplomatic citizens.
This is the third general generation and the second to be placed in various institutions of the country. The third generation represents our diaspora from 11 countries: Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA, Austria, Denmark, France, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Slovakia and Turkey. The institutions where the third generation scholarship holders have already settled include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Institute for War Crimes in Kosovo, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo and the National Museum.
