The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was welcomed at the Akasaka State Residence, for a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida.
In the meeting was talked about bilateral relations and international developments
Prime Minister Kurti once again expressed his condolences to Japanese Prime Minister Kishida and the Japanese people on the occasion of the tragic death of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, appreciating his role for peace, democracy and security in the world, but also for his initiative for Japan’s cooperation with Southeast European countries
Prime Minister Kishida thanked Prime Minister Kurti for participating in the State Funeral and for the considerations expressed for former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. He expressed his support for increasing exchanges between the two countries and was happy to confirm that Kosovo will participate in EXPO Osaka 2025
The Republic of Kosovo adheres to the value and strategic orientation of the G7, said Prime Minister Kurti and as they shared common views regarding the geopolitical circumstances in the world, with emphasis on the situation in Ukraine. He added that Kosovo is a reliable ally and partner of Japan.
The two leaders agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations by building on the diplomatic legacy of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Kishida conveyed his greetings to the people of Kosovo,
Thanking him for his hospitality, support and cooperation Prime Minister Kurti invited his counterpart, Kishida, to visit Kosovo in the near future.
