The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, continued his visit to the Municipality of Gjilan by following closely the works on “Hamdi Kurteshi” street.
This project reaches the total value of 2.4 million euros and is co-financed by the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure with 2 million euros and by the Municipality of Gjilan with 400 thousand euros.
It envisages the expansion of the road along the KSF barracks, from 2 lanes to 4, with a length of 600 meters. It also includes covering the bed of the Stanishorka river, sidewalks on both sides of the road, as well as the bicycle path.
After visiting the road works, Prime Minister Kurti participated in the inauguration ceremony of “Banja” Park. With this investment of 250,000 euros, a new space of 17,000 square meters was added to the municipality of Gjilan, which will be used for entertainment, sports and other recreational activities.
The development of the “Banja” Park has provided the citizens of Gjilan with dozens of trees and a stream of water from the underground source. There are also sports grounds, including tennis and a basketball court, 6 chess tables, children’s toys and an amphitheater that offers opportunities for various cultural activities.
Meanwhile, the mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, regarding the inauguration of the “Banja” Park, said that this space is now being used by our citizens, families, children, sportsmen, and those who love greenery and love walking.
The prime minister had another short stop at the workshop where the former parking lot at the Small Post Office is being regenerated, integrating the Green Pockets, to transform it into an Urban Park.
