The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and this afternoon closely visited the works that are being carried out for the construction of the Gjilan highway.

Accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi, the mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, and the MPs Arijeta Rexhepi and Luan Aliu, from what was seen from the three lots visited, Prime Minister Kurti convincingly reiterated that the Autostrada Pristina-Gjilan is being done.

“We visited the three lots. The first lot in length over 4.8 km, the second lot 2.5 km and the third lot 2.2 km, in which case we also saw the work being done for the underpass between the second lot and the third lot which in this way will also enable the connection of villages like Smallusha so that it also has access”, declared Prime Minister Kurti.

He promised that we will pay attention to quality works, but also to lighting and signage. He also thanked the ministry, workers and owners of economic operators who are fulfilling the contract with quality work.

On the other hand, the Deputy Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi said that the works are being developed with high intensity in the 8 lots and they are making maximum efforts to finish the works during this year, because the budget has been allocated for this and the frequent visits are an encouragement to economic operators and workers to work diligently, so that this is completed as soon as possible. The Deputy Minister added that they are currently preparing the necessary documentation so that next year we can start with the continuation of this highway from Bresalci to Dheu i Bardhë, to get closer to Corridor 10 at a distance of only 10 kilometers.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, thanked Prime Minister Kurti and the Deputy Minister for their continued commitment to the completion of the Gjilan highway, a project which, as the mayor said, is of particular importance not only for Anamorava but also for our entire country, because of international connections and corridors.

He said that Anamorava and Gjilani, which were forgotten by the previous governments in terms of commitment and dedication to the city, have already received the proper attention and the project is well on its way to be completed within this year.

In the end, President Hyseni said that the government’s preparations and commitment is for this project to be completed this year, while the works that are being carried out on the ground show that this intensity of work will be expected at the end with the total completion of the highway by in Bresalc.

Prime Minister Kurti’s complete pronunciation:

Together with the Deputy Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Hysen Durmish, and the Mayor of Gjilan Municipality, Alban Hysen, and MPs Arijeta Rexhepi and Luan Aliu, we came here to have a close look at the works being carried out for the construction of the Pristina highway – Gjilan. From what we saw, we can clearly and confidently say that Prishtina is being connected to Gjilan by highway, so the Pristina-Gjilan highway is being built.
We visited the three lots. The first lot in length over 4.8 km, the second lot 2.5 km and the third lot 2.2 km, in which case we also saw the work being done for the underpass between the second lot and the third lot which in this way will also enable connecting villages like Smallusha to also have access. In total, this part will have a length of 22.8 km, from Banulla in Lipjan to Bresalci in Gjilan.
I thank the ministry, I thank the workers, the owners of the economic operators who are performing the contract and we are very grateful to them for this quality work that will reduce the distances between the municipalities of Anamorava on one side and the rest of Kosovo on the other side, because our state of Gjilan and Anamorava in general owed this connection with road infrastructure that was missing for more than a quarter of a century.
In particular, we will pay attention to quality works, but also to lighting and signage, which also complete this highway.
