During his stay in Gjilan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, visited the “Albimi LTD” factory in Gjilan, which deals with the production and sale of bicycles in the local and international market with the well-known brand “PILOT BIKE”.

There he was received by the owner of the company Ibrahim Krivaqa, who presented the operating environment of this company and the way in which bicycles are produced.

This factory has about 70 workers, whose average salary is 478 euros, while its capacity is 27 thousand bicycles per year. Their products are exported to many countries of the European Union such as Spain – about 23% of the export, Hungary, Greece, Italy, France, Germany, Slovenia and Croatia.

“Albimi LTD” has so far benefited from measures 2.4 – Export support and 2.1 – Subsidizing loans, while recently it has employed 12 young people through the Superpuna platform.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked the owner and the workers for their hospitality and the conversation they had regarding new support opportunities, especially in removing various barriers. Minister Murati said that this factory is a success story that has continuously shown an increase in production and an increase in exports. He said that this proves that work can be done and that there is quality as long as there is will from the owners and workers and support from the Government.

Regarding the challenges with barriers, Minister Murati said that he has asked the Customs to have a survey of all local producers to see better and in more detail what are the obstacles they face. He added that very soon we will have another package of measures which eliminate barriers but also provide additional support to our producers in order to increase employment, export, and the well-being of citizens.

Mr. Krivaqa expressed his gratitude for the visit and the government’s support through various measures and packages, which have helped him automate the process and increase exports.
