Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, visited the Hospital, Clinical and University Service of Kosovo (ShSKUK) where they met the Director of this institution, Elvir Azizi, and the Director of Joint Technical and Administrative Services, Mentor Zejnullahu.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that during this period the results and increased contribution are evident, and he expressed the willingness of the Government in full support in order to fulfill the objectives in the future.
In this meeting, in addition to the drafting of the new statute of ShSKUK and KKUK that will further advance health services, Prime Minister Kurti was informed about the work in terms of improving health services for citizens, new projects that are planned to be realized, as regards the construction and renovation of some clinics within the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCU) as well as investments in regional general hospitals with the aim of increasing performance.
The director of ShSKUK, Elvir Azizi, spoke about the progress of the implementation of the Government’s plan in the field of health and about the infrastructural transformation of some clinics that will increase the range of services and improve conditions for citizens. He presented a general analysis of the infrastructural condition, human resources and medical equipment in the KKUK clinics and general hospitals.
There was also a discussion about the increase of international cooperation with external experts, especially in deficit branches in order to benefit from the experience of countries with advanced health systems. A special topic was the establishment of professional bodies, medical councils in clinics, as well as monitoring mechanisms in order to ensure the smooth running of processes and respect for working hours.
