Together with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla and the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today first visited the Municipality of Leposaviqi, where he was hosted by its Mayor, Lulzim Hetemi and the Deputy Mayor Marina Bogojevic, as well as the municipal councilors. The Deputy Minister for Communities and Returns, Radoica Radomirovic, was also present.
They talked about the central government and the government in the Municipality of Leposaviq. Prime Minister Kurti shared with them some of the results of the three-year government. He singled out the fields of education, agriculture, defense, security and health as some of the areas that have been invested the most. While it was announced by the mayor Hetemi and the vice-president Bogojevic about the work in the municipality, the challenges in governance, as well as the cooperation with the central level.
With the leaders of the municipality, and in front of the municipal councilors and staff of the Municipality of Leposaviq, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his commitment that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo serves as an infrastructure for the rights and well-being of citizens without distinction. He also asked for close cooperation from them, without privileges, without discrimination, always being together at the service of the citizens.
From there, Prime Minister Kurti continued his visit to the village of Banjskë, to see up close the place where the terrorist and criminal ambush was organized on September 24 of last year, from which the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, now the Hero of Kosovo, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed. There he also visited the policemen at the checkpoint of the Kosovo Police.
After Banjska, the Prime Minister also visited the Municipality of Zubin Potok. In the building of the Municipality, he had the opportunity to meet and talk with officials of the Civil Registration Agency, who also provide the car registration service. Prime Minister Kurti thanked them for their work and commitment to be at the service of all citizens.
As part of this visit, on the day he would turn 45 years old, the tombstone dedicated to the Hero of Kosovo, Enver Zymeri, was inaugurated in the place where he heroically fell in the line of duty on July 26, 2011. Present alongside Prime Minister Kurti was and Enver Zymeri’s son, Sokol Zymeri, together with the General Director of Police, Gazmend Hoxha and ministers Sveçla and Krasniqi.
Finally, before visiting the Municipality of North Mitrovica and meeting its Mayor, Erden Atiq, and Deputy Mayor Katarina Axhançic, the Prime Minister stayed in the Kroi i Vitakut neighborhood, namely at the sites of new houses that are being built there with the support of the Government. There he had the opportunity to talk with some of the residents and owners of the new houses who expressed their happiness and gratitude for the Government’s support. Yesterday, the Government allocated an additional four million euros to subsidize the construction of houses for members of non-majority communities in the municipalities.
And in the meeting with the chairman Atiq, they talked about the progress of the works. Wishing him success, the prime minister expressed the support of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for this municipality and for all the services provided here to citizens without distinction.
