The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted today the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States for European and Eurasian Affairs and at the same time the special envoy of the United States of America for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar and the Ambassador of the United States of America, Jeffery Hovenier.

Remembering the last meeting they had together from October last year, the Prime Minister thanked Mr. Escobar about the visit and spoke about the developments that have marked these five months.
The Prime Minister said that the attack on the vice president of Zveçan, Natasha Tomaniq, must be condemned.

The attack is the continuation of Serbia’s threats to the security of Kosovo after the terrorist and paramilitary attack of September 24 in Banjska, where the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed, while the perpetrators of this attack are still free and protected in Serbia.

Regarding the regulation of the Central Bank, the Prime Minister had a substantive discussion focused on addressing common concerns. He said that the decision of the Central Bank is the decision of an independent and professional institution. Due to the impact of the regulation on the Kosovo Serb community, the government has taken steps to ensure that the transition is quick and easy for the citizens of Kosovo from the Serbian community.

In this regard, the Prime Minister emphasized the proposals that have been presented for the transitional period and offered cooperation in quickly addressing all concerns that fall within the government’s powers.
The Prime Minister thanked Mr. Escobar for his role and contribution and that of the United States of America and said that the successes of Kosovo and its people are joint successes with the United States of America.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla and the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati.
