Ukrainian journalists who have taken shelter and live and operate in Kosovo through the Journalists in Residence (JiR) program, presented to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, an award of appreciation for “Important contribution to the protection of Ukrainian journalists during the war, support for the international program JiR in Kosovo and the strengthening of cooperation between the media in Ukraine and Kosovo”. The Prime Minister received this award from Sergiy Tomilenko, president of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked them for this assessment, adding that for us it has been an obligation to support the just liberation struggle for freedom and democracy of Ukraine.
He further added that at the 216th meeting of the Government, two weeks ago, in accordance with the request of the European Center for Media Freedom (ECPMF), we approved the request for three more journalists to come to our country through the program JiR, whose arrival in Kosovo we are looking forward to.
Prime Minister Kurti expressed his gratitude for their continuous efforts, work and contribution.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, also participated in this meeting.
