Prime Minister Kurti paid tribute to the grave of Professor Ejup Statovci

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on the 26th anniversary of the student protests and in honor of the life and work of Professor Ejup Statovci, today placed wreaths of fresh flowers and paid tribute to his grave, together with Bujar Dugolli, Driton Lajçi, Hajrullah Koliqi, Ahmet Geçi, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, Jeton Rexha and Atdhe Hykolli.

Highly appreciating the contribution of Professor Statovci, after the tributes, Prime Minister Kurti said that this honor at his grave shows that we do not forget that date and added that we owe so much to Professor Statovci, who elevated the University of Pristina in the international aspect as well as the political-social one in very difficult conditions.

Meanwhile, Bujar Dugolli said that the rector Ejup Statovci was at the forefront together with the students and a great pillar of support that the student movement had. Among the participants, the rector Kelmendi, who was the successor of the rector Statovci, was remembered, as well as the activity of the student leader from Mitrovica, Ali Ahmeti, for his contribution to the students, the university and society.

Together with Bujar Dugolli, Driton Lajci, Hajrullah Koliqi, Ahmet Geci, Lulëzon Jagxhiu, Jeton Rexha, Atdhe Hykolli, we came here to the grave of Professor Ejup Statovci, Rector of the University of Prishtina, who was rector for six extraordinary years when the University of Pristina was revived, although under occupation, and became the institution that led the resistance at that time.

Today is the 26th anniversary of that historical student demonstration protest that owes so much to Professor Ejup, that’s why we put fresh flowers and paid tribute to his grave to show that we don’t forget that date and owe him so much to this Professor and Rector who elevated the University of Prishtina not only in the international aspect, but also in the political-social aspect in very difficult conditions.
