Today, on the occasion of marking the 26th anniversary of the heroic fall of the Professor of History, Selim Berisha, the Prime Minister of the Republic, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, paid homage and laid wreaths of flowers at the grave of Professor Selim Berisha, at the cemetery of the village of Barilevë-Drenoc.
In commemoration of the figures of Professor Berisha, Prime Minister Kurti said that although we are sad and disappointed that Prof. Berisha is not among us physically, it is an honor and pride to remember his life, work and heroic fall.
“As a history professor, he became part of the history of our people. His resistance and endurance, in an unequal war, in a battle in which he gave everything of himself with weapons in hand, facing the enemy forces of Serbia that were committing crimes and atrocities against civilians.
He added that the blood of martyrs and the fallen is the foundation of the state of Kosovo, while for us, from a part of the work that is about strengthening the state, defending of the territory, the safe roof, the fence of our land, the martyrs and the fallen are those who continue to light our path for this sacred duty that we all have together; each and every one of us.

Good morning to everyone.
It is a sorrow and pain for us that we do not have Professor Selim among us physically, but it is also an honor of the pride of life, the work and remember the hero of Professor Selim Berisha.
As a history professor, he became part of the history of our people. His resistance and endurance, in an unequal war, in a war that gave everything of himself with weapons in hand, facing the enemy forces of Serbia that were committing crimes and atrocities against civilians.
Bowing down before the martyrs and the fallen of the nation, we remind ourselves of how high a price our people have paid with their best sons and daughters for the freedom that we enjoy today and for development and advancement that we build together.
The blood of martyrs and the fallen is the foundation of the state of Kosovo, but for us, part of the work that has to do with the annexation of the state, with the protection of the territory, with the secure rooftop, with the fence of our ancestral land, and all the martyrs and the fallen are those who continue to light our path for this sacred duty that we all have together; each and every one of us.
