As part of the activities marking the 27th anniversary of the Kosovo Liberation Army’s epic, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the President of the country, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, the Speaker of the Parliament, Glauk Konjufca, and members of the government cabinet, paid homage today at the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz.
After the homage, Prime Minister Kurti, Speaker of the Parliament, Konjufca, Deputy Prime Minister Gërvalla, and other members of the government cabinet visited the Jashari family. They were welcomed there by Rifat Jashari.

Three generations of Jashars, 59 people in total, about half of them women and children, were sacrificed on March 5, 6 and 7, 1998, for the liberation of Kosovo, for freedom, independence and unification.
The epic of the KLA gave an unstoppable impetus to the armed uprising and the liberation war. Nationwide demonstrations and historically unprecedented solidarity erupted among Albanians in the Balkans, but also everywhere in the diaspora, and at the same time the international public and world diplomacy became aware and conscious.
Today, baca Shaban would be 100 years old, and this year Hamza would be 75 years old and Ademi 70 years old. We no longer have them physically, but they only have days of birth: they are on April 2, April 19 and November 28. Meanwhile, their death, their heroic fall is the Epic of the Kosovo Liberation Army and now, although we do not have the commander-in-chief, Adem Jashari, baca Shaban and Hamza and all the rest of the Jasharis who sacrificed themselves 27 years ago, we do have baca Rifat who we will visit in his house full of grandchildren, but above all we have Kosovo as a Republic, with democracy and development.
