“They worked together, they worked together for liberation and unification, for freedom and justice until their last breath, and like Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha five years before them, they gave their lives for Kosovo, for the Albanian nation,” said Prime Minister Kurti.
Prime Minister Kurti’s complete statement to the media:
Together with Speaker Glauk Konjufca, with the brother of the martyr, Fadil, with the ministers of the Government and with members of the Assembly, we came to pay our respects to the two martyrs of the nation, Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu, today, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of their heroic fall.
Even before the Kosovo Liberation Army, we had the liberators, even before the last martyrs of the last war, we had martyrs of the nation, who were the perpetrators of June 1999.
Afrim and Fahri are synonymous with that well-known expression not only of our people, “until the last breath”.
They worked together, acted together for liberation and unification, for freedom and justice until their last breath, and like Rexhep Mala and Nuhi Berisha five years before them, they gave their lives for Kosovo, for the Albanian nation. Therefore, today we remember them with great longing and pride.
Glory to Afrim, Fahri and all the martyrs of the nation!
