Munich, 16th February 2024
At the Security Conference in Munich, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the member of the German Bundestag Frank Schwabe, at the same time a member of the German delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly to the Council of Europe (PACE), with whom they discussed the next steps towards Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
It was emphasized that it is necessary for the citizens of Kosovo to have access to the mechanisms of the Council of Europe. The steps towards Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe mean a key moment in Kosovo’s journey towards the consolidation of the state and integration into international organizations and mechanisms, as well as the unwavering commitment to the country’s integration into the European family.
With our participation in the mechanisms of the Council of Europe, all citizens will have essential access to vital resources and platforms for the promotion of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
This was the last meeting that Prime Minister Kurti held in his one-day participation in the Security Conference in Munich, which this year is marking its 60th anniversary.
