Prime Minister Kurti met with representatives of United Nations agencies in Kosovo

In a working morning, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, talked with representatives of the United Nations agencies in Kosovo headed by Coordinator Arnhild Spence.

Since a year now, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has found a legal solution for cooperation with the agencies of the United Nations, which protects the sovereignty and constitutionality of the Republic. This cooperation is fruitful and brings extraordinary cooperation in the field of rule of law, social welfare, employment, protection of cultural heritage and digitization of services.

The topics of discussion were the Government’s priorities and projects and cooperation with these agencies in their advancement.
In particular, it was discussed about cooperation in economic development through support to tourism businesses, especially in the northern part of our country. Also, it was discussed about the development of urban transport for the best connection between neighborhoods and cities.

The Prime Minister informed those present about the work of the Government for more than three years and the progress achieved, which has also been proven by the ranking of Kosovo in international indices and measurements, guided by the principles of democracy, social welfare, the rule of law and equal opportunities for all the citizens without distinction.

He mentioned, among other things, the creation of 15,000 new jobs through the “Superpuna” platform, the increase in employment for women, where government measures supported the employment of over 12,000 women.

He added that even in the north of the country, work is being done to increase jobs and equal opportunities for everyone, including the benefits from energy efficiency programs.

The Prime Minister thanked the representatives of the United Nations agencies for their close cooperation, joint work and fruitful conversation.
