The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with professors and albanologists Leonardo Savoia from Italy and Francesco Altimari, who is from Arber.
The discussion between them was open, honest and full of exchange of knowledge. There was talk about the Albanian linguistic identity and culture, as well as about the pioneering figures of the Renaissance and the national issue, who have contributed to the preservation and cultivation of the language, but also its spread internationally.
Honorable Professor Leonardo Savoia, said that he has studied the Albanian culture and feels happy that he often visits the Republic of Kosovo, to further deepen his studies and research work. He together with Mr. Altimari, will participate in the 42nd International Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture.
Professor Savoia has been dealing with Albanian and Arbesh studies for over 40 years. His studies were also published by the Academy of Sciences of Kosovo and the same are presented everywhere where the antiquity and connection of Albanian with old languages is proven. While Mr. Altimari is a researcher and professor of Albanian and literature at the University of Calabria since 1992, and has also taught at the University of Naples, the University of Lecce, the University of Trieste and the University of Milan-Cattolica.
