Yesterday, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met with the Polish historian and publicist Adam Michnik. Well-known and influential in Poland, Michnik also had a special attention for Kosovo.
During the conversation, the Prime Minister went through the modern history of Kosovo and informed Mr. Michnick with the main events that have characterized our country’s efforts for liberation and independence, since the time of his most numerous writings about Kosovo, before and about the war.
He also discussed relations with our northern neighbor, Serbia, and their continuous aggressive approach to our country.
The conversation also focused on the stories, personalities, and events that have influenced the history of Kosovo, the history of the Balkans, and the history of Poland. Michnik was a dissident, a political prisoner and a distinguished thinker and commentator of his country.
Michnik had been in Pristina to give a lecture many years ago, where the Polish community living in Kosovo were also present. The Prime Minister invited Mr. Michnik in Kosovo to continue the conversation.
