The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received in a meeting today, deputies from the Parliamentary Group for Foreign Affairs of Italy, Emanuele Loperfido and Lia Quartapelle Procopio.
During the conversation, the Prime Minister emphasized the good relations between our two countries and thanked them for Italy’s continuous support to the Republic of Kosovo, also mentioning the field of security where Italy has a high participation in the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR , which shows the lasting commitment to security and peace in Kosovo and the region.
Furthermore, he informed the deputies about the democratic and economic progress of our country, also proven by the international rankings, and he also singled out the government’s program, especially the policies undertaken for sustainable development, equal distribution and social equality. Speaking about the integration of minority communities, the prime minister emphasized the advanced legal framework of Kosovo and the rights guaranteed by the constitution of our country, which go beyond the European standards, these rights are known and also found by the report of the eminent jurists of the Council of Europe.
Prime Minister Kurti asked Italian parliamentarians for Italy’s support for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, as the most democratic country in the Western Balkans. This support is an affirmation of the values of the Council of Europe and recognition of the democratic progress of our country.
