The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, during the third day of his stay in New York, met the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
With the establishment of the Special Mission of the Republic of Kosovo in the Vatican, which marks the advancement of bilateral relations, the Republic of Kosovo and the Holy See have shown the will for further deepening of relations. Today’s meeting in New York was a very good opportunity to continue discussions on issues and areas to further strengthen the existing cooperation.
Prime Minister Kurti informed Secretary Parolin about the institutional support and protection that Kosovo offers to cultural and religious heritage objects. He also spoke about the Republic of Kosovo’s commitment to respecting religious rights and freedoms, and the government’s social policies and employment measures. The Prime Minister emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo is a country of all its citizens and that, in this direction, the Government works to ensure equal opportunities for everyone towards safe economic development.
Thanking him for the meeting and for the hospitality extended to him at the Holy See in June of last year, Prime Minister Kurti invited Secretary Parolin that, like Kosovo, the Holy See also opens its mission in the Republic of Kosovo.
