The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed the new Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav.
In this first meeting between them, Prime Minister Kurti welcomed Ambassador Orav to Kosovo and offered close cooperation in advancing Kosovo’s agenda towards membership in the European Union. He emphasized that Kosovo has applied for membership in the European Union in mid-December 2022, and is committed to carrying out the necessary reforms for membership. The EU Growth Plan is the right answer to speed up the reforms and Kosovo is among the first countries in the region which has submitted the reform agenda.
Together they discussed the relations between Kosovo and the EU based on common values and the advancement of fundamental freedoms. Prime Minister Kurti spoke about the results of governance in these almost three and a half years, about the advancement in indices of democracy, the rule of law and economic development, as well as about the new social programs for expectant mothers and children.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Ambassador Orav for the help and contribution of the EU and offered him full cooperation in advancing the agenda for membership in the European Union.
