The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met for a working breakfast the Special Representative of Germany for the Western Balkans, Manuel Sarrazin, at the Residence of the Ambassador of Germany in Kosovo, Jörn Rohde.
Progress in the implementation of mobility agreements in the Berlin Process, regional cooperation and expectations from the next summit that will be held in Berlin on its 10th anniversary, were the subject of discussion.
The Prime Minister recalled the importance of starting the implementation of the agreement on travel with identity cards between Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which facilitates the free movement of citizens, before the next summit.
The Prime Minister emphasized that on 16th May in Kotor, Montenegro, Kosovo requested that the Western Balkans become part of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) of the European Union to increase financial integrity and strengthen cooperation in the fight against financial crime, a request that became part of the joint declaration issued in Kotor.
For his contribution and role in strengthening the relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Germany, as well as in the advancement of regional cooperation, the Prime Minister thanked Mr. Sarrazin.
The Berlin Process is the platform where we commit to regional cooperation and economic integration. The Common Regional Market emerging from the Berlin Process together with the Growth Plan are opportunities for the development of the Western Balkans and the acceleration of reforms for membership in the European Union. The Republic of Kosovo is proactive and contributing to this important process.
