Prime Minister Kurti met the Commander of KFOR, Özkan Ulutas

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the KFOR Commander, Özkan Ulutas.

This meeting was in the framework of intensive consultations and continuous coordination. During it, it was discussed about the cooperation between the Government, security institutions and the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, in the service of maintaining security and peace in the country.

Among the central topics was the opening of the main bridge over the Ibar in Mitrovica as a right, necessary and useful thing. Prime Minister Kurti informed the KFOR commander about the general works being carried out on the main bridge over the Ibër river and the results of the preliminary report of the assessment of the stability of the bridge, submitted by the economic operator to the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure. In the framework of the necessary steps taken by the Government for the opening of the bridge, he also recalled the public meeting with the citizens of North Mitrovica, organized on August 8 by the municipality of North Mitrovica, where citizens from the Serbian community, non-governmental organizations and representatives from the central and local level were present as well as KFOR and EULEX.

The Prime Minister expressed his conviction that freedom of movement and the rule of law, peace and security are all possible together and right.

In this meeting, it was also discussed about dealing with fires in these hot summer days and the help that KFOR could offer in extinguishing them that started in the fields and reached the mountains.

Prime Minister Kurti, who was accompanied by the first deputy prime minister, Besnik Bislimi, the minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi and the deputy general director of the Kosovo Police, Fehmi Hoti, thanked the KFOR commander, Ulutas, for cooperation and regular communication.
