The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti today welcomed the Artistic Director of the Federal Cultural Foundation of Germany, Katarzyna Wielga-Skolimowska and the creator of the development programs at this foundation, Nuno de Brito Rocha, accompanied by the Albanian visual artist and curator, Erzen Shkololli.
In a friendly conversation, they discussed the development of art through institutional support and the successes that artists from Kosovo have achieved in recent years in the international art arena. Among them, a special success was marked at the 60th edition of the Venice Art Biennale, the Kosovo Pavilion received Special Recognition for State Representation. The only country from Europe that this year won at the Biennale, among the 86 competing state pavilions.
The Prime Minister informed them on the increase of investments by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in culture and art and institutional support for cultural heritage, philharmonic and film, museums and galleries, the independent scene. He appreciated the work and the important contribution that each of them has given to the promotion of culture and art through projects in Germany, Poland, Brazil and elsewhere, and together they discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the cultural institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the Federal Cultural Foundation of Germany.
