The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met yesterday with representatives of the associations of our diaspora in Venice, Italy.
In their conversation, they discussed the present and the future of Kosovo, the progress that the country has seen in the last three years and the prospects for further advancement of economic development and investments as well as social welfare. It was also discussed about our emigration as an economic and cultural bridge between the state of Kosovo and the Albanian nation with Italy and the Italian people.
The Prime Minister listed the positive and promising economic indicators, where he mentioned, among other things, the average economic growth of 6.2%, the doubling of exports and foreign direct investments, the creation and increase of new jobs, especially with a focus on the employment of young people and women, the increase of turnover of businesses.
He added that the Government has ensured that economic development is distributed to all citizens without distinction, through various economic measures undertaken, to help mothers, students and families, but also to overcome the global crises we are facing.
Expressing the Government’s attention to the diaspora and its major economic contribution to the country through investments in Kosovo and work in various programs, the prime minister also emphasized the initiatives undertaken by the Government for the diaspora, such as the Diaspora Diplomacy School, the KosovaDiplo365 platform, the Window project for Diaspora investments and many others.
The Prime Minister thanked all the participants for the meeting and the warm conversation. In this meeting, Prime Minister Kurti was accompanied by the Ambassador of Kosovo in Italy, Mrs. Nita Shala and the Consul General in Milan, Mr. Kastrati Diamond.
