The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, participated in the opening of the Pride Parade in Pristina on Saturday, within the eighth edition of the Pride Week in Kosovo.
Carrying the banner with the slogan “Kemi qenë dhe do t’jemi”, he marched in this parade, accompanied by the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Hajrulla Çeku, the Minister of Health Arben Vitia, head of the parliamentary group of the VETËVENDOSJE Movement! Mimoza Kusari-Lila, the mayor of the Municipality of Pristina, Përparim Rama, as well as activists, members of civil society and other participants.
Prime Minister Kurti said that this parade affirms diversity and opposes stigmatization.
“If we believe in human rights, then we must throw away our prejudices. Some people are different, some people are much different, but we are all human and should be equal. It is equality that allows us to unite, makes exclusion impossible and guarantees inclusiveness,” he said.
Pride week started on Monday, June 3 and ended today, where a number of different activities were celebrated and held during the week.
Pronunciation of Prime Minister Kurti:
This parade affirms diversity and opposes stigmatization. If we believe in human rights, then we must throw away our prejudices. Some people are different, some people are very different, but we are all human and should be equal. It is precisely equality that enables us to unite, prevents exclusion and guarantees inclusiveness.
Therefore, I took part in this parade, because our independent state is a democratic republic, which does not exclude anyone and guarantees equality for everyone and everyone.
Thank you.
