The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti today welcomed Dora Bakoyannis (Greece, EPP/CD), the Rapporteur for the Political Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for Kosovo’s application for membership in the Council of Europe in her mission fact-gatherer in Kosovo.
He thanked her for her visit, stressing that it is an honor and a pleasure to welcome her to Kosovo and to the Prime Minister.
It was stated that for Kosovo membership in the Council of Europe is a historical process which contributes to the protection, promotion and advancement of democracy, the rule of law and human rights, and that the Republic of Kosovo is committed to the maximum that each phase of membership goes to the best possible way, while sharing with him the latest in terms of political developments in the country, economic performance, democratic progress and reforms so far.
Rapporteur Bakoyannis thanked the Prime Minister for the hospitality. She expressed her happiness with the change and development that the country has marked since her last visit 14 years ago, as she emphasized that the report she will compile from her stay here will serve as a basis for decision-making in PACE.
