In the wake of the meetings with the mayors of the northern municipalities, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with the Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq and the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, after the meeting with the leaders of the Municipality of Zubin Potok, welcomed the Mayor of the Municipality of Zveçan, Ilir Peci and the municipal directors.
The central topic in this meeting was municipal governance, new services, including those offered by central agencies, such as the Business Registration Agency and the Civil Registration Agency, which have already been operationalized in the Municipality of Zveçan. Mayor Ilir Peci informed the Prime Minister about the completed projects, 12 so far, during his mandate and about the projects that are in the process of implementation. The practice of regular weekly meetings between municipal leaders and citizens of all communities was singled out, which proves the good level of cooperation between institutions and citizens, the municipality’s support measures for residents in the field of agriculture, from which most of the beneficiaries come from the ranks of the Serbian community, the employment measures supported by the Government, of which 80 citizens have been employed so far, as well as the close cooperation of the municipality with the Ministry of Local Government Administration.
During the meeting, it was also discussed about the challenges inherited in the municipality, about the need for public investments in the expansion, functionalization and improvement of the water supply network, especially in the deepest villages of the municipality, in infrastructure and in public lighting, which would increase public security. On this occasion, the importance of preparing and approving the municipal budget was emphasized according to the terms of the Budget Circular of the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transport, so that the budget for current and new projects is reflected in the Law on Budget Allocation for 2025.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Mayor Peci and the municipal directors for their daily work, commitment to improving services and the well-being of citizens, without distinction, as well as for good cooperation with central institutions.
